Energy Performance Certificates – Domestic Properties

All social and private landlords are required by EU law to provide an Energy Performance Certificate from 4th January 2009. This applies to all domestic properties when they change tenants. The certificate assigns an energy rating to a building and provides advice to the client on how to improve energy efficiency in the property.

Our highly professional survey team can normally have certificates completed and available for download via our portal system within 48 hours of order- reducing the time that properties lie vacant.

What does the certificate look like?

The image below shows what the EPC will look like. It uses the same energy efficiency diagram as can be found on white goods. It also shows the CO2 rating of the building and provides a standardised estimate of the amount of energy (gas & electric) that will be used per annum.
